In Mulluvare village under Vasthare hobli, a man alleged that his family has been boycotted by the community for lending utensils for a wedding ceremony in a neighbouring village.
At a press conference, MM Bhairappa revealed that he was appointed as the village head and was responsible for managing communal utensils.
He stated that three weddings were being held in neighbouring Kesarike village on the same day and the villagers were short of vessels for cooking. He, thus, lent them three vessels due to the shortage. For this reason, six villagers imposed a Rs 6,000 fine and socially ostracized his family, he alleged.
