With much of Donald Trump's Liberation Day tariffs remaining secret till the last hour, tempers are rising ahead of the announcement today. Republican leader Amdrew Clyde dropped a major hint though it was his personal idea about Trump tariffs as he said he believes that Trump tariffs are not going to be long term and only a way to gain some leverage for the president.

"I think we should be giving President Trump the benefit of the doubt. Because this is his second term. He used tariffs very effectively in the first term. I don't think the tariffs he has in his mind are going to be long-term. I think he's using them as leverage. He's a very effective negotiation," the Rep leader said adding that he has trust in Trump that he has the situation completely under control.

According to reports, Trump finalized the tariffs Wednesday hours before unveiling them in front of the world as discussions went on with no final decision made on Tuesday.

Donald Trump has been teasing these tariffs since coming to power and added more to his tariff arsenal as he announced reciprocal tariff,m secondary tariff etc. Reciprocal tariff will be imposed on every country that taxes US products, he said, though no details have emerged so far. Apart from these tariffs, there are 25 per cent tariffs in Mexico and Canada as well as tariffs on lumber, copper, pharmaceuticals and microchips.
