Pakistan parliament on Friday became a scene of intense battles as ministers clashed on how the government is handling the ongoing conflict with India amidst rising tensions between the two countries.
Pakistan MP Shahid Khattak , Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) president of south region Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, slammed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a parliament session on Friday, calling him a coward for failing to make a statement against India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Criticising the government's approach, MP Khattak said, "Not even one statement came against India. Pakistani soldiers standing on the border expect that the government will fight bravely. When your leader is a buzdil (coward) who cannot even utter the name of Modi, what message are you giving to the soldier fighting on the border?"
This comes after India-Pakistan tensions reached new heights with the army conducting precision strikes under ' Operation Sindoor ' on May 7 in response to terror attacks on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 people including a Nepali citizen.
The operation targeted nine terror facilities in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the government informed in media briefing. The military action focused on destroying infrastructure associated with terrorist organisations including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
