NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the redeveloped Deshnoke station in Rajasthan's Bikaner on Thursday and virtually launch another 102 revamped stations across 18 states. He will also lay foundation stone, inaugurate and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects worth over Rs 26,000 crore.

In a statement, the Prime Minister's Office said the 103 stations have been redeveloped under ' Amrit Bharat Station Scheme ' in 86 districts at a cost of over Rs 1,100 crore. "Over 1,300 stations are being redeveloped with modern facilities, designed to reflect regional architecture and enhance passenger amenities under the scheme. Deshnoke railway station, serving pilgrims and tourists visiting the Karni Mata temple, among other places, is inspired by the temple's architecture and arch and column theme," it said.

Similarly, the revamped Begumpet railway station in Telangana has elements of the Kakatiya empire architecture. The Thawe station in Bihar incorporates various murals and artworks related to Maa Thawewali, one of the 52 shaktipeethas, and Madhubani paintings. The redeveloped Dakor station in Gujarat is inspired by the Ranchhodrai Ji Maharaj temple.

The redeveloped 'Amrit' stations integrate modern infrastructure with cultural heritage, have passenger-centric amenities, including those for 'divyangjan', and adhere to sustainable practices, according to govt.

The PM will lay foundation stone for construction of three vehicle underpasses and projects for widening and strengthening of NHs. He will dedicate seven roadway projects worth Rs 4,850 crore to Rajasthan. The highways extend up to India-Pakistan border, enhancing accessibility for security forces and strengthening defence infrastructure.
