Addressing a meeting of G20 foreign ministers on the margins of UNGA, EAM S Jaishankar made a strong pitch for ending conflicts , combating terrorism and reforming multilateralism. He said with both international peace and global development taking a hit, the costs - especially to Global South - in terms of energy, food and fertiliser security were starkly demonstrated by ongoing conflicts, particularly in Ukraine and Gaza.
Terrorism remains a persistent threat to development, and it is imperative that the world display neither tolerance nor accommodation to terrorist activities, the EAM said. "Given the extensive networking amongst terrorists, those who act against them on any front actually render a larger service to the international community as a whole," Jaishankar added.
