NBA team Detroit Pistons have something special in their All-Star point guard Cade Cunningham

Send Push
Cade Cunningham joined the Detroit Pistons in 2021 and is one of the most talented players on their roster. Unfortunately for him, injuries have kept him on and off the court for most of his career. But that hasn't made him lack any confidence in his capabilities. He is also one to keep the morale high when everyone feels like maybe it's time to give up. And most of all, he knows his worth, especially in his team, and has been giving his best to take them to the top.

Cade Cunningham shares his thoughts on his role with the Detroit Pistons
Cade Cunningham is one of the best players with the Detroit Pistons, averaging 21.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game in his career. During the Pistons' latest game against the Dallas Mavericks, he was the highest scorer of the night, despite his team losing the game 123-117. And he knows he has the potential to reach these heights and become one of the best players in the world. In a conversation with ESPN, Cunningham said:

"I think I can be the best basketball player in the world. I think I'm on my way. I want people to understand that and that's what I'm working to show people every time I play."

As he said, he has been putting in the work day in and day out to show that he can be the very best if he keeps going the way he has. With only four years in the league so far, he is already pulling numbers many can only dream of. By the time he hits his prime, he will be a beast on the court.

The people around Cade Cunningham cannot stop singing his praise

It would be vanity if he were singing his praise with nothing to show. But Cade Cunningham has the numbers to back his talk, and people around him to do the talking for him. He is showcasing his talent and his confidence, while everyone around him is ready to talk about how good of a player he is and what the future could look like for him. Pistons coach J.B. Bickerstaff said in a pre-game meet:

"Very rarely do you find a guy who can grow and develop and not leave people behind. Cade has the uncanny ability to not only take care of himself and do what's best for his development and growth, but he makes sure that his teammates are always right alongside, and giving them the same opportunities that he's getting."

Talking to ESPN , Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans spoke of Cunningham, saying:

"In my opinion, he's an All-NBA player this year. He's been doing his thing, but from watching Cade from afar and my few interactions with him, he's somebody that's gonna let his work speak for him."

Looks like he has the respect of his teammates, his coach, and even his rivals. With the way he is going, Cunningham definitely has the potential to be one of the very best in the world and could become one of the star players in Pistons history.
