Throughout his NHL career span, Patrick Kane has succeeded in scoring above 20 goals in a goal. Talk about his first season, playing for the Chicago Blackhawks , Patrick Kane scored 21 goals, then on 25, 30, 27, 23, and 23 for the next five NHL seasons with the Blackhawks. Patrick Kane’s highest career goal total was 46 goals, achieved in the 2015-2016 NHL season. Five NHL seasons after that, playing still for the Chicago Blackhawks, Patrick Kane scored 34, 37, 44, 33, and 15 - averaging 32.6 goals per season!

The official X account for the Detroit Red Wings shared Patrick Kane’s proud picture with the caption, “Most 20-goal seasons by a U.S. born player in NHL history + his 100th point as a Red Wing. Congrats, Kaner! 👏” An X user commented, “Making history” for 36 YO Patrick Kane’s achievement.

The last two seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks for Patrick Kane were the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 NHL seasons

It was in the last two seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks that Patrick Kane went spirally down from 26 goals in the 2021-2022 NHL season, and 16 goals in the 2022-2023 NHL season. Patrick Kane was then traded to the New York Rangers, where he only managed to obtain five goals. Reason? Patrick Kane had his hip resurfacing surgery on 6/1/2023.

Patrick Kane shone in the Detroit Red Wings as he did with the Chicago Blackhawks

After the New York Rangers came the Detroit Red Wings for 36 YO Patrick Kane- it was his favorite destination for landing in his free-agent era. Playing for the Detroit Red Wings, Patrick Kane shined like he did in the Chicago Blackhawks. For the first season with the Detroit Red Wings, Kane accumulated 20 goals in the 2023-2024 NHL season, and for the second season, the current one, again! 20 goals in the 2024-2025 NHL season.

X users react to Detroit Red Wings’ post for Patrick Kane’s historic moment of “Most 20-goal seasons by a US-born player in NHL history and his 100th point as a Detroit Red Wing,”

One X user wrote, “All time great no question”

Another X user who didn’t want Patrick Kane to be with the Detroit Red Wings penned, “Really wish he wasn’t wasting the end of his career by being on the red wings.”

A third X user called him “One of the best US player in history”

A fourth X user thought it was bad timing for Patrick Kane to create that historical moment of his career, as it clashed with Alex Ovechkin reaching his 894th career NHL goal (which ties Alex Ovechkin with Wayne Gretzky!), “Man that is just sooo unlucky it happened on Ovi night. Otherwise this is headline front page news! Congrats to a truly gifted amazing player #showtime”
