Jorge Masvidal teases Donald Trump call while pushing for long-awaited UFC White House fight against Leon Edwards

Jorge Masvidal says he is training hard and wants to return to the UFC at the White House event next June. The 40-year-old former BMF champion told Henry Cejudo on Death Row MMA that he has been working out for two to three months and is pushing every contact to get on the card. He even said he was “calling Trump calling everybody” to help secure a place on the June show in Washington D.C. Masvidal made the comments in late September and the story spread fast.

Jorge Masvidal also says he still wants to settle his long-running feud with Leon Edwards from their backstage incident in London in March 2019. He said he feels no lasting hate but wants to finish their story in the cage. Masvidal added that if he wins at the White House, he could end his retirement for good and keep fighting if the result pushes him to continue.

He said, “Your boy’s been training I tell you that much man Been like two three months now on it Out calling Donald Trump calling everybody You’ve got to get me on this s**t So I’m just staying focused staying in shape brother”.

Masvidal stressed timing and the audience matter and he believes the White House show would be the perfect stage for his return.

His public push has made promoters and fans talk about whether the UFC will book him and who he might face.

Masvidal clearly called out Leon Edwards as the top opponent he wanted.

He said “Leon don’t got the belt no more but I still always want to fight Leon Just because we got all that history and stuff Ive never had any ill will towards Leon but I would still love to punch him in the face and just settle all that s**t”.

Masvidal reminded listeners of his 2019 flying knee knockout of Ben Askren and his BMF win over Nate Diaz to show he still draws big interest.

He told Cejudo that if the UFC puts him on the White House card and he wins, his hand raised , he will think hard about whether to stop or roll the dice and fight again.
