How to Make a Stonecutter in Minecraft Materials RequiredFor the purpose of crafting a Stonecutter, you require the following two ingredients:
  • 1 Iron Ingot

You can acquire Iron ingots by smelting Iron ore. On the other hand, stone can be obtained by these two methods:
  • If you mine a stone block with a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch, you will directly get stone in Minecraft.

  • Next, you must place 3 stone blocks in the bottom row.
  • After the stone is placed, you can finally put the Iron ingot in the center square.

    • Blackstone
Here are the detailed steps of using it:
  • Start by right-clicking on the stonecutter to open its interface.

  • You must then select the item that you want to craft from the options.
  • Finally, drag the newly created item into your inventory.

Besides the aforementioned use, the Stonecutter will also serve as a job site block for Mason villagers. You can basically place it near an unemployed villager, to turn them into a stone mason. This will open up a good variety of trading options, and you can obtain bricks, quartz, and stone tools, among other items.
