MUMBAI: Residents of Mhada 's Motilal Nagar layout in Goregaon met with CM Devendra Fadnavis Friday in the hope of expediting their long awaited redevelopment project.
The representatives demanded of the CM that the rights of the residents should be protected in this redevelopment, they should be taken into confidence and there should be complete transparency.
The CM reportedly said that a model township will be created there, and no injustice will be done to the residents. "He assured us that everyone will get houses with all amenities," claimed Yuvraj Mohite, president of the Motilal Nagar Vikas Samiti.
The state govt has decided to provide 1,600 sq ft area built-up houses to the residents under this 'special project'. However, the residents have demanded 2,000 sq ft carpet area. Fadnavis reportedly instructed Mhada to prepare a detailed report in this connection.
Mohite said the Bombay High Court has given its verdict on the redevelopment of Motilal Nagar 1, 2 and 3. This redevelopment will be done on 142 acres through Mhada.
