Nigel Farage stages furious PMQs protest in response to Reform UK attacks

Nigel Farage staged a PMQs protest as he reacted with fury to Labour's attacks against Reform UK. The Reform leader watched the session from the side gallery instead of the House of Commons chamber.

He said he made the decision because he is repeatedly attacked by Sir Keir Starmer and other Labour MP but is not allowed to respond. Mr Farage wrote on X: "Every week at PMQs I am attacked by the PM and Labour MPs, but have no right of reply. I am just a mere spectator. So I have decided to spectate from the public gallery today instead."

The Clacton MP complained last week that he heard "yet another" set of exchanges where he was "mentioned but can't respond".

He added at the time: "There is not much point me even being there."

His comments followed the Prime Minister branding Reform as "Kremlin cronies sewing division".

The Prime Minister takes questions from MPs for around half-an-hour each Wednesday.

MPs who want to ask a question, alongside the Conservative and Liberal Democrat leaders Kemi Badenoch and Sir Ed Davey, can enter a ballot for one of 15 slots, in a random selection sometimes known as "the shuffle".

It comes as Reform, which has five MPs, is consistently leading national opinion polls.
