Claw machines are an entertaining way to spend time at the arcade - and there's always the possibility that you might strike it lucky.
We all understand that the chances of actually securing a prize are incredibly remote.
But because you can insert that coin and simply try again, it's often far too enticing to just keep going.
This is particularly true when you're confronted with an abundance of cuddly toys.
But what would you do if somehow your dog knew how to operate a claw machine, and they were utterly determined to claim a prize? That's precisely what occurred to the owner of dog Promise, whose owner posts on Instagram as @my_aussie_gal.
Promise was positioned beside the claw machine and suddenly leapt up to it to have a turn.
Captioning the heartwarming video, Promises' owner Mary wrote: "You really don't want to know how much Promise has spent on the dinosaurs in this machine. But hey, it's worth every penny to see her face light up for her new toy".
Mary didn't need to secure the toy for Promise because the proud pooch managed to accomplish it entirely by herself - and people were genuinely astounded by the expertise involved.
Following seven meticulous attempts to claim various toys on the claw machine, Promise managed to obtain a pterodactyl plushie.
The brilliant canine then chose to "show it off to the whole mall" in celebration.
Mary revealed that Promise was "so proud of herself" as she raced through the shopping centre with the toy in her mouth. People were astounded by Promise's prowess on the machines, questioning how she acquired the skills to win herself a plush toy.
One admirer gushed: "When the dog's better at these machines than I'll ever be! She is so smart!"
Another penned: "She is smart indeed, but she's got a dog trainer GENIUS for an owner soooo... she's won at life".
A third commented: "Those toy claw machines are so rigged! I'm amazed she got one!! Good job girl!"
Someone elucidated: "Yes, they are rigged. But they are rigged to shut fully after a certain number of times. You can program the toy so that it is worth about £5, then you program it to close after more than £5 worth of games have been played.
"So eventually you can succeed. It's just a game of luck if you arrive at the machine on the first go or near the last go".
An Instagram user retorted: "It's also how they stuff the toys in there. I watched one being filled and saw how they stuff them down into the pile so it takes more force to grab them, usually with it slipping off the toys".
Regardless, there's no denying that what Promise did was both amazing and utterly endearing.
