judges are reportedly "buzzing" over a new twist to the hit talent show. It's been revealed that ITV bosses are making a huge shake-up to the live semi-finals, adding a completely different element to the format. For the first time in the talent show's 18-series history, judges , , , and , and presenters , will be able to hit the Golden Buzzer during the live shows. If hit, the act will go straight through to the grand finale each week and be even closer to the chance to £250,000 and a spot on the Royal Variety Show.

Rather than having the Golden Buzzer available to everyone during the performances, during each of the five live semi-final rounds, either one judge or Ant and Dec will be appointed control of the siren, and only they will be able to make the decision. So, as soon as they see a performance worthy of a place in the final, they will have just seconds to make their choice. Their decision could ultimately change the course of an act's BGT journey and possibly annoy their fellow judges.

The new twist has already proven to be a huge hit with the judges, who are reportedly thrilled with the shake-up. Speaking exclusively to the Express, the show insider revealed: "Everyone is buzzing for the change and can't wait to see how it shakes things up. It could really ruffle some feathers if someone chooses to save an act that another judge isn't keen on."

Originally introduced in 2014, the golden buzzer allowed each judge and presenters Ant and Dec, to send an act directly to the semi-finals just once per season. Yet, this rule has been frequently bent over the years, resulting in multiple presses during auditions. This series has witnessed acts like Vinnie McKee, Will Burns, Stacey Leadbetter, Olly Pearson, The Blackouts and Linda Mudzenda benefit from the golden buzzer.

Britain's Got Talent is shaking things up this year, not just with its line-up but also with how the semi-finals will be broadcast. Traditionally, the semi-finals take place nightly over a single week leading up to the live final. This time around, however, they're spreading out the excitement over five weeks, starting on April 26.

Adding to the fresh feel of the show, BGT audiences were treated to KSI as a guest judge. Prior to his stint on the panel, he expressed his enthusiasm: "I'm so excited to be a guest judge for Britain's Got Talent. When I got the call-up, I couldn't believe it.

"I remember watching old BGT episodes and going from being amazed to laughing my arse off. I'm buzzing to see all the fresh new talent, and I'll be sure to leave a mark!"

Daily Express has contacted ITV for comment.

Britain's Got Talent continues on Saturday on ITV at 7pm. Good Morning Britain is available to watch on ITVX.
