Tata Motors is set to revive the iconic Tata Sierra SUV, a popular model from the 1990s, with a complete redesign and modern features. The relaunch is planned for the BMGE 2025 event, with an electric version (EV) hitting the market first, followed by petrol and diesel variants likely in early 2026.
The new Tata Sierra retains the retro appeal with a wide horizontal grille, slim headlights, full-width LED light bar, and a sleek roof spoiler. The rear features a robust bumper and stylish taillights, while a panoramic sunroof with a floating black roof enhances its premium look.
Performance-wise, the EV Sierra will likely have a dual-motor setup similar to the Harrier EV, with all-wheel drive (AWD) capability and an estimated range of over 500 km. The petrol model will sport a 1.5-litre turbo engine producing around 168 PS and 280 Nm of torque, while the diesel version is expected to have a 2.0-litre engine offering 170 PS and 350 Nm. Transmission options are anticipated to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The interior promises a futuristic experience with a triple 12.3-inch digital screen setup, Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 360-degree cameras, ventilated seats, and other premium features, ensuring a luxury ride.
Reports suggest the Tata Sierra EV might be priced starting around ₹25 lakh and will compete in both electric and midsize SUV segments, challenging rivals like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Mahindra XUV700 EV, and others.
With prototypes already spotted and dealership showcases underway, Tata Sierra is poised for a 2026 launch, offering Indian customers a fresh blend of heritage design, electrification, and modern tech.
