When it comes to party outfits, we know that sparkles, patterns and metallics are the details to look for, but shoppers can never go wrong with a classic: the little black dress. And Marks and Spencer recently dropped a brand-new satin lace black dress that we think is perfect for the upcoming festive months.
Giving us some serious boho vibes (think Sienna Miller-style) mixed in with silky sophistication, the black Satin Lace Dress from the M&S Collection, £46, was spotted recently on Capital FM's Sian Welby. The radio presenter - alongside fellow Capital Breakfast hosts Jordan North, Stark and hosted by celebrity stylist Melissa's Wardrobe - is taking part in M&S' new YouTube series 'Love That, in which stars discuss their favourite new-in buys atMarks and Spencer - including the lace frock.
Focusing on 'back to work' outfits in the second episode, Sian paired the lace dress with M&S' £49.50 Relaxed Single Breasted Blazer, which finished the look perfectly. Speaking about the frock and its versatility she said: "I've gone quite bold", referring to the lace dress. "This is quite cool, we always talk about that whole 'could you re-purpose something'? You really could just go out after work in this [dress]."

Available in sizes six to 18,the lace dressalso comes in three different lengths - petite, regular and tall. This piece has a silky black finish, with darts at the bust to give a slightly tailored look that skims over the figure. With relatively thick straps, the dress appears to be compatible with regular bras, which makes it a great option for feeling comfortable as well as stylish.
Its V-neckline is delicately lined with lace, while the skirt - from the knee down - is also finished in the same material. For those wanting a bit more coverage, especially come autumn, Nobody's Child offers its Black Polka Dot Jacquard Angela Midi Dress for £79.
With a similar V-neckline and lace trim, it has puff sleeves and a spotty jacquard print finish. If a mini dress is preferred, this ASOS DESIGN boy mini dress, £27.20, has a lace hem and roll neck top which would look great with knee-high boots for a night out or with tights, heels and a blazer for an office look.
A versatile wardrobe staple throughout autumn, the M&S dresscan be dressed up with some heels, jewellery and a lick of red lipstick, or dressed down with some boots, layered over a polo shirt and a denim jacket or jumper (when the weather gets chilly).

Being a new addition to the Marks and Spencer website, the dress hasn't received any comments yet on its fit however it may be worth wearing the dress with a slip underneath to sit best as silky material like this tends to ride up or cling to certain areas.
The dress is available at Marks and Spencer for £46.
