Emmerdale 'gives away' who triggers Joe Tate's downfall - but it's not Caleb

There's been some major clues about who might bring down villain Joe Tate.

The latest episode certainly hinted his wronged uncle Caleb Miligan might seek revenge as he gets closer to the truth about his stabbing. With the dark organ theft storyline rumbling on, a mistake by Joe and a twist involving Dr Crowley certainly hinted Caleb might finally realise the truth.

It left fans convinced he would be the one to bring down Joe in a revenge plan. But what if spoilers have revealed someone else will trigger his comeuppance, someone he won't be expecting?

Could Caleb be a red herring, and might someone closer to Home (Farm) be out to get Joe in a major twist? On Wednesday night, Caleb, who is still recovering from his life-saving surgery, nearly made a discovery.

Joe had his uncle stabbed in a staged car theft, all so that he could steal his kidney. Joe was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and was said to be close to death, needing a transplant to survive.

With the help of Crowley he targeted Caleb and had him stabbed, before taking him to a private clinic. Caleb was saved, but his kidney was given to Joe in secret - with Caleb led to believe that the kidney had to be removed as it was too badly damaged.

This week we've seen Joe sniffing around trying to work out what the Miligans are hiding, and what happened to Anthony Fox. Caleb has taken on the keeping enemies close approach, before giving him a story about why his daughter Steph was struggling.

But Joe was at risk of slipping up this week when he left his coat at Caleb's house, with his medication post-kidney transplant in his pocket. The medication needs to be taken to encourage his body to accept the kidney.

Joe realised he'd left them at the Miligans' home and raced to get them, seemingly managing to do so. But then some comments to Caleb including Charity Dingle accusing Joe of spiking her son Noah Dingle, and then Noah himself talking about the moment in the hospital, Caleb was concerned.

Noah talked of the dodgy looking doctor, Crowley, and Joe being in the hospital but he thought he got it wrong. Caleb pulled a look that confirmed he was onto him.

But spoilers for next week have revealed Kim Tate gets involved in order to get Caleb to back off. Kim is forced to take action to stop Caleb from feuding with Joe, and ends up offering him a huge deal that is at a cost for her.

Kim is clearly infuriated and soon tells Joe she will help him build his empire, and with his plan against Caleb. But what if Kim is actually out to get Joe after him constantly letting her down?

After all it was only a matter of years ago that she tried to have him killed. He's done nothing but cause her trouble since his return, and with fans confused as to why Kim would target Caleb again after their past feud, might it be a cover and might she actually be planning Joe's mighty downfall?
