Dexter: Resurrection has confirmed its future on Showtime and Paramount+ after leading man Michael C Hall issued an exciting announcement.
The star has been portraying the iconic vigilante serial killer Dexter since 2006 and reprised the role in the new sequel series earlier this year.
Thankfully, the long-awaited revival has proven a hit with fans as the actor has officially confirmed a second season is on the way.

In a video shared on the official Dexter YouTube channel, the star revealed: “We’ve been greenlit for another season.”
Plot and cast details are being kept under wraps for now, though Hall teases more updates will arrive soon.
“There’s more to come,” he went on. “The writers room is assembling now.
“Details will be forthcoming, but I wanted to be the first to let you know that the story continues.”
The series picked up after the 2021 series Dexter: New Blood, which reunited the iconic forensic investigator with his now grown-up son, Harrison (played by Jack Alcott).
However, their reunion didn’t go exactly as planned and the first season of Resurrection kicked off weeks after Dexter took a bullet to the chest from Harrison.

After waking up from a coma to discover his son has disappeared, he makes the move to New York City to try and track him down, with Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) hot on his trail.
Season one sadly said goodbye to Angel, a mainstay in the series from the very first season.
It also introduced plenty of new faces to the world of Dexter, including Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater, the billionaire head of a secret society of serial killers, and Pulp Fiction icon Uma Thurman as his right-hand Charley.
Other recognisable names included Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet and David Dastmalchian in guest roles.
Fans were thrilled to see the series’ renewal arriving quickly after Resurrection’s season one finale at the start of September.

On YouTube user commented: “Awesome, Resurrection was a real return to form for the series and I hope they can continue to produce that magic like the first few seasons of the original show. You guys killed it this time around.”
“Thank you Michael C. Hall!” another replied. “We all appreciate your hard work and dedication! Bring on season 2!”
And a third celebrated: “I gasped and shouted like a lady when I got the notification for this announcement. Dexter Resurrection is exactly what we want it to be.”
