Actor Nicky Katt's cause of death has been revealed after the . Nicky, who starred in Dazed and Confused and was 54 years old.

Now, reports claim the star died by suicide. Initially, no cause of death had been confirmed. However, reports say the actor had tragically hung himself. Katt was discovered by his landlord who had visited the property days earlier to collect the rent. However, upon his return five days later on April 8, he sadly discovered the late star's body.

According to law enforcement officers, no suicide note was left behind. The sources also told that the actor had been dead for over a day before he was found at his home in Los Angeles on April 8.

Nicky found fame initially after his performance in the indie film Dazed and Confused, in which he took on the role of Clint Bruno. He also portrayed Harry Senate in several seasons of Boston Public on TV.

Other acting credits included roles in A Time to Kill, Boiler Room, The Way of the Gun, SubUrbia, Insomnia and School of Rock. He also appeared in the Woody Allen play A Second Hand Memory.

He began his acting career at the tender age of seven, featuring in the 1977 TV series CHiPs. Other credits on the small screen included guest appearances on various TV shows, including Voyagers!, Trapper John M.D., Quincy and The Facts of Life.

While he had a diverse TV and theatre acting career, his last credited TV role was in 2018 on the Hulu original series Casual.

In October 2020, he reunited with his Dazed and Confused co-stars for a virtual table reading of the film's script. They reunited in a bid to raise funds for the Voto Latino Foundation and March for Science.

A number of Nicky's industry colleagues paid tribute to the actor following the news of his death. Among them was Beau Flynn, the CEO of Flynn Picture Company, who wrote: "Heartbroken to learn about the way too early passing of the seriously talented actor Nicky Katt - God bless you my friend.

"What a privilege to know you and work with you on my first movie in 1995 - ‘johns’. Rest in peace brother."

Film critic Barry Hertz also paid homage, tweeting: "Nicky Katt should've/could've been 2010's Walton Goggins. Phenomenal in everything from Boston Public to Planet Terror. RIP."

The actor, who had no children, was previously married to Annie Morse from 1999. The pair got divorced in 2001.
