Former Chelsea executive Casper Stylsvig has landed one of the top jobs in sport. Stylsvig has been named Executive Director Sports Business of Hong Kong Jockey Club and also joins the Board of Management.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club has an annual turnover of £29m and is the biggest tax payer in the country as well as being the largest private donor of charity funds. Danish-born Stylsvig, 52, worked previously at Barcelona, Fulham, Manchester United and AC Milan and is one of football’s most well known faces in business circles.
Chelsea announced his departure last month and his future path has now become clear with one of the most prestigious and lucrative jobs in sport. He was at Chelsea for two years and oversaw a complete restructure at Stamford Bridge of the commercial operation. It was a mutual decision for him to leave Chelsea with several top job offers on the table and now he is one of sport's most prestigious roles.

Stylsvig drew up a five-year strategic plan, and delivered significant revenue growth across multiple business areas.
Stylsvig will now be responsible for overseeing HKJC’s sports business portfolio across horse racing, football, lottery, and emerging sporting opportunity, developing and executing growth strategy, strategic marketing efforts and overseeing all Race Course operations.
The Danish businessman will start work on January 15 and will report into HKJC’s Chief Executive Officer, Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges.
Stylsvig said: “It’s an incredible honour to join the Hong Kong Jockey Club at such an exciting time in its evolution. The Club stands among the world’s most respected sports organisations, combining commercial excellence with a deep social purpose.
“This role represents a natural progressive next step in my career — bringing together best practices from global football to help shape the future of a truly unique, multi-sport business.
“I’m looking forward to working with Winfried and the team to drive innovation, expand our international footprint, and create world-class experiences for customers and fans in Hong Kong and beyond.”
