Boiling is the usual cooking method for some foods, including potatoes. However, it can indeed take a lot of time until they’re ready to eat, and not everyone has the time or patience. According to All Recipes, small potatoes can take about 10 to 15 minutes to boil, while larger potatoes can take between 20 and 25 minutes.
Even better, the clean-up is minimal, leaving less mess compared to other methods. Thanks to this method, forget about the accumulation of pots and pans in the sink.
How to steam potatoesSteaming potatoes is a healthy and delicious way to cook them, whilst also preserving their natural taste. It takes less time than boiling them, while also retaining their many nutrients and vitamins.
These potatoes can be enjoyed in a variety of dishes, such as salads or on their own, sprinkled with some garnish. Steamed potatoes are the perfect side with any meat, fish, or vegetarian alternative.
To do this, peel the potatoes as thinly as possible and cut them into even-sized chunks - not too big, but not too small. Otherwise, it will take longer to cook fully.

Then, fill up a pot with boiling water and a steaming basket inside. Put the potatoes in the steamer basket and let the water steam them until they're tender.
After 10 minutes or so, transfer them to a separate plate to cool down, and add any other seasonings: salt, pepper, oil, or chives. Last but not least, enjoy, whether by itself or accompanied by other food!
By following this simple advice, those with a busy schedule and little time to cook will be able to enjoy some delicious steamed potatoes in no time. It doesn’t require a lot of culinary knowledge, but just some time and patience.
