Due to heavy rains in Delhi, there was traffic jams at many places. The administration has advised people to leave their homes only when it is very important. The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert of rain during the day.

Heavy rains drenched the national capital Delhi on Wednesday (23 July) morning. People got relief from humidity. However, waterlogging and traffic jams caused problems for people. People going to office in the morning were seen struggling. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued red and orange alerts for the coming hours, which means there will be heavy rain during the day as well.
Administration alert
According to news agency PTI, the administration has advised people to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. Also, it is advised to follow traffic updates, stay away from electric poles and wires and not take place under trees.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for North-West and South-West Delhi. This means to remain alert. On the other hand, a red alert is in force in South Delhi and North-East Delhi. Red alert means maximum vigilance and immediate action.

- There was a traffic jam in South Extension, NH-8, Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road and Nehru Place
- Traffic jam seen in East of Kailash, Colony Road
People got relief from humidity
Due to heavy rains, the temperature in Delhi dropped. This brought some relief to the people suffering from the humid heat. The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.6 degrees Celsius, which is 1.7 degrees below normal, while the maximum temperature is likely to be around 33 degrees Celsius.
