Mumbai: The Western India Automobile Association (WIAA) is all set to organize a one-day women’s national car rally on April 12, aimed at promoting road safety and women empowerment. The event, presented by JK Tyres and supported by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), will see over 300 women participants driving from Mumbai to the scenic valley in Nashik.
The rally will be flagged off from the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) in Mumbai and will follow the Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) format. A prize distribution ceremony will mark the conclusion of the rally in Nashik. The initiative not only celebrates the growing interest of women in motorsports but also seeks to raise awareness about safe driving and women’s safety on the roads.
In its previous edition, the rally had around 113 participating vehicles. This year, over 100 cars are expected, with each team comprising two to three women participants.
Participation Details and Requirements:
To be eligible for participation, entrants must submit a set of documents along with their entry forms, including:
- Indemnity Declaration Form
- Owner’s Letter of Permission (if applicable)
- Two passport-size photographs of each woman participant
- One passport-size photograph for each co-passenger
Additionally, photocopies of the following must be submitted and originals carried during the rally:
- Valid Driving Licenses (Driver and Navigator)
- Vehicle Registration Book or Smart Card
- Vehicle Tax Book
- Vehicle Insurance Policy
- Valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate
- One-day rally insurance
- FMSCI rally license for the driver
Participants must be 18 years or older.
Registration and Entry Fees:
Each team must pay a non-refundable entry fee of Rs. 15,000. Payment can be made via cash, cheque, or demand draft (DD) in favor of the Western India Automobile Association (WIAA), Mumbai. All fuel and toll charges during the rally are to be borne by the participants.
Registration forms, along with necessary documents, must be submitted in person between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM on weekdays (excluding weekends) at:
