Amid concerns over potential traffic disruptions from a proposed jetty near Radio Club in Colaba, Samajwadi Party (SP) legislator Rais Shaikh has written to Union Minister of Ports Nitesh Rane, urging the involvement of a reputed urban planning institute.
In his letter, Shaikh cited existing congestion in the area and warned that the jetty could further burden daily commuters and residents.
Shaikh acknowledged that while initial traffic studies may have been conducted, a more detailed analysis is needed. He recommended involving the World Resources Institute (WRI), known for its urban planning and traffic expertise.
He emphasised that engaging a reputed institution would ensure a data-driven approach to identify and address potential issues, leading to sustainable, commuter-friendly solutions.
