Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 34-year-old married woman was allegedly raped after being taken to a hill in Gwalior on April 1.
Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case and taken the accused into custody.
The incident took place in the Girwai police station area on the evening of April 1. The woman was returning home from the market when she had to pass through a deserted hill area.
There, her neighbor Roop Singh Jatav met her on the way and allegedly forced her to go up the hill, where he threatened to kill her and then assaulted her.
After the incident, the woman immediately informed her family about what had happened. Deeply disturbed and seeking justice, she, along with her relatives, went to the Girwai police station to formally file a complaint against the accused.
Upon receiving the complaint, the police promptly took action and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Niranjan Sharma confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law. He further stated that the accused has been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated.
The police are ensuring that all necessary legal procedures are followed, and the accused will now be presented before the honorable court for further proceedings.
