Women's World Cup squad: India names Harmanpreet Kaur skipper; Check full list of players selected

The Board of Control for Cricket on India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, with Harmanpreet Kaur set to captain the side and Smriti Mandhana named vice-captain.

This will be Harmanpreet’s first stint as skipper at the ODI World Cup, which begins on September 30 in India. Mandhana, who has been a key figure in the batting lineup, will serve as her deputy as the team eyes its maiden title.

The squad combines experienced names with emerging talent. The World Cup will be played across multiple Indian and Sri Lankan venues from September 30.

Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, Yastika Bhatia, Renuka Singh Thakur, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Sree Charani, Radha Yadav, Amanjot Kaur, Arundhati Reddy, Kranti Gaud.

World Cup schedule
The tournament features eight teams in a round-robin format with 28 league matches to be played from 30 September to 2 November at five venues: M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru), ACA Stadium (Guwahati), Holkar Stadium (Indore), ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam) and R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo, Sri Lanka).

The World Cup will open on September 30 with hosts India taking on Sri Lanka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Defending champions Australia will begin their campaign against New Zealand on October 1, while last edition’s runners-up England face South Africa on October 3.

The marquee India vs Pakistan contest is scheduled for October 5.

The tournament final will be played on November 2. If Pakistan qualifies, the title clash will take place in Colombo; otherwise, Bengaluru will host the summit match.
