Latent row: Apoorva Makhija aka Rebel Kid makes Instagram comeback posting hundreds of rape threats

Influencer Apoorva Makhija, who famously goes by the name 'The Rebel Kid', has made a comeback on Instagram after deleting all her posts last week following India's Got Latent show controversy.

The 23-year-old influencer made two posts with the first one showing multiple collages of hundreds of rape, acid attack threats in form of messages and posts. "This is not even 1%," she captioned it.

Mukhija was one of the judges on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show, India’s Got Latent, which became the center of a major controversy in February. The uproar began after fellow influencer Ranveer Allahbadia made crude remarks about parents and sex during an episode.

Her second post read: "Don't take the story, from the storyteller."

Mukhija got immense support on these posts, with many of her 3 million followers feeling proud of how she navigated through the entire situation.

The backlash post Latent row was swift, with multiple complaints filed in Mumbai seeking action against Allahbadia, Mukhija, Raina, and other comedians involved in the show.

Mukhija, who was also accused of making an objectionable comment during the episode, had appeared before Mumbai police in connection with the case.

The controversy escalated further when the National Commission for Women (NCW) intervened. The commission took serious note of the offensive remarks made by Allahbadia, Mukhija, Raina, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani, summoning them along with the show's producers, Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra.

While Mukhija had wiped her Instagram clean and has remained silent on the matter, Ranveer Allahbadia made a return to social media last week and also announced the resumption of his podcast 'The Ranveer Show'.
