The International Volleyball Federation ( FIVB) has announced the appointment of Isha Ambani and Louise Bawden to its Board of Administration for the 2024–2028 Olympic cycle.
Ambani and Bawden were appointed under FIVB Constitution Article 2.4.1.5, which permits the FIVB President to nominate up to four additional board members across designated categories. This provision supports the Federation’s goal of broadening perspectives and enhancing diversity at the executive level.
Isha Ambani joins as the appointed representative for the gender-in-minority category. A prominent figure in the business world, Ambani is part of the executive leadership at Reliance Industries. She plays a pivotal role across several group entities, including Reliance Retail, where she has led significant growth and spearheaded major digital and e-commerce initiatives.
Additionally, Ambani oversees the company’s Diversity and Inclusion programme, advancing initiatives that support women in the workplace. Her combination of business leadership and commitment to inclusion and innovation makes her a valuable addition to the FIVB Board.
Meanwhile, Louise Bawden, a three-time Olympian and President of the FIVB Athletes’ Commission, was selected by her fellow commission members to join the Board. A dual Olympian in indoor and beach volleyball, Bawden has served on the Athletes’ Commission since 2021 and was elected President in 2024 for a four-year term. Her dedication to advocating for athletes and her elite-level experience provide critical insight to the Board.
