Match 18 of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals saw RR emerge victorious by 50 runs at the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium on Saturday, April 5. With this victory, RR won their second successive game of the season.
RR ended the powerplay at 53 without losing any wickets. The first wicket which fell was of (38 off 26). Yashasvi Jaiswal fell a few overs post Samson's dismissal for a well-made 67 (45). Both the wickets were taken by Lockie Ferguson. Riyan Parag remained not-out on 43* off 25 deliveries. Marcus Stoinis proved to be the most expensive bowler, conceding 48 runs in his four overs.
Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer were dismissed in the first over of the 206-run chase. The dismissal of Stoinis in the fourth over left PBKS in all sorts of trouble. Nehal Wadhera (62 off 41) and Glenn Maxwell (30 off 21) put together 88 runs for the fifth wicket. However, everything fell apart after the two batters were back in the shed. Archer ended up with a three-wicket haul. Sandeep Sharma and Maheesh Theekshana secured a couple of wickets apiece.
