SSC CGL 2025: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the dates of the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) Tier 1 exam. According to the official notification, the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be held from September 12 at various examination centers across the country.

According to the notice issued by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), the SSC CGL 2025 Tier-I exam will be conducted from September 12 to September 26 in Computer-Based Mode (CBE). During this time, the exam will be conducted in several phases at examination centers across the country. At the same time, the Tier-2 exam will be conducted in December 2025 (proposed). The official notice reads, "The Commission has decided to conduct the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2025 (Tier-1) from 12th September 2025 to 26th September 2025. Candidates are advised to visit the Commission's website for further updates."
Total Vacancies
A total of 14,582 vacancies will be filled in various departments of the Central Government by the SSC CGL recruitment drive. The shortlisted candidates will be appointed to Group 'B' and Group 'C' posts in various ministries, departments, organisations of the Government of India, as well as various constitutional, statutory bodies and tribunals.
The allocation of these posts will be determined in accordance with the provisions specified in the examination notice, taking into account both the merit and the preferences of the candidates for the particular posts.
Selection Process
The candidates will be selected through a two-tier computer-based examination (CBE) followed by a document verification round. The scheme and syllabus of the computer-based examination are mentioned in the notification. The commission said that document verification will be done by the user departments after the final result is declared.
SSC CGL 2025: Minimum passing criteria
30 per cent for the unreserved category
25 per cent for OBC and EWS candidates
20 per cent for all other categories
The maximum percentage of errors (minimum qualifying standard) is 20 per cent for the unreserved category, 25 per cent for OBC and EWS candidates and 30 per cent for all other categories.
